How it works

One hire, seen from both sides

What the candidate does and what the HR team does at each step — and how each step hands over to the next.

Step by step

From the job post to the first day

Six moments. Each one is something the HR team does and something the candidate sees — in the same system, at the same time.

  1. Step 1

    A role opens

    The candidate

Sees it on the careers page and on this website as soon as it is open, and knows the date it closes.

    The HR team

Adds the role under Jobs — department, location, description — with opening and closing dates if it is a campaign.

  2. Step 2

    Applying

    The candidate

Creates an account, fills in the application, attaches a CV and answers the role's questions — saving it to finish later if needed.

    The HR team

Sees the new application arrive under Applications, with the CV, the answers and where it came from.

  3. Step 3

    Screening

    The candidate

Follows the application's status from their account. If it is not taken forward, the account says so.

    The HR team

Reviews each application, shortlists or rejects with a reason, and moves several at once. Screening answers that rule someone out are marked.

  4. Step 4

    Interview

    The candidate

Receives an email with the date, time and format, and a calendar invitation.

    The HR team

Schedules the round and panel. Each interviewer records a scorecard, and outstanding feedback is easy to see.

  5. Step 5

    Offer

    The candidate

Opens the offer in their account, reads the letter, and accepts by typing their name — or declines, and may say why.

    The HR team

Creates the offer letter from the company's template with a date to answer by, and is emailed the candidate's answer.

  6. Step 6

    Before day one

    The candidate

Uploads ID, certificates and other documents to their own record, and keeps their details up to date.

    The HR team

Allocates the hire to a department and records the hire, which starts their induction checklist. Hires shows who is starting with something still outstanding.
